You know, I think Beyonce's getting a bad rap in this film mainly because she's already such a big star.

But actually, to rein in a naturally huge personality and take on a much more muted and subdued role is not as easy as it might seem, and when she's singing this song in the film, Beyonce's emotional interpretation is quite brilliant, particularly when she hits the last word "Own" and ends it. Look at her face and the emotional conveyance in it, and tell me that's not acting.

I must admit I do like this video better, but they could have done more than just showed the entire "When I First Saw You" sequence. This is why people are getting tired of Beyonce because there were 6 other pricipals and not one of them are shown in the video. This just stinks of "Look at me...Look at me...I want an Oscar" and "Look at me, I'm Beyonce and not part of an Ensemble"

After watching that AOL video I understand why Jamie didn't get nominated for anything...He tottally missed the character...And Curtis is not "soft" he is sincere...he needs some training...
