You know, I think Beyonce's getting a bad rap in this film mainly because she's already such a big star.
But actually, to rein in a naturally huge personality and take on a much more muted and subdued role is not as easy as it might seem, and when she's singing this song in the film, Beyonce's emotional interpretation is quite brilliant, particularly when she hits the last word "Own" and ends it. Look at her face and the emotional conveyance in it, and tell me that's not acting.

I must admit I do like this video better, but they could have done more than just showed the entire "When I First Saw You" sequence. This is why people are getting tired of Beyonce because there were 6 other pricipals and not one of them are shown in the video. This just stinks of "Look at me...Look at me...I want an Oscar" and "Look at me, I'm Beyonce and not part of an Ensemble"

Hey...I love your Dreamgirls blog site...I just wanted to let you know about some new updates about the movie...It was recently nominated for several top Awards. One was the Black Reel Awards, which is the most prestigious African American Film Ceremony of the year. The results will be announced at a Gala in Februrary. It had a record breaking amoung of nominations.
Also, the film won 4 awards from the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Best Picture - Winner Best Supporting Actor (Eddie Murphy) - Winner Best Supporting Actress (Jennifer Hudson) - Winner Best Director (Bill Condon) - Winner Thanks...

Yeah...I am just looking forward to seeing her with a Golden Globe in one hand, and Oscar in the other.... And I can't wait for her album, cause you know its gonna be fly too...then she'll be the first African American female with a Grammy and a Oscar (not Beyonce, even though thats her life dream...lol...lets see that happen...lol.)

After watching that AOL video I understand why Jamie didn't get nominated for anything...He tottally missed the character...And Curtis is not "soft" he is sincere...he needs some training...
