    New Dreamgirls Video

    According to FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman, Bill Condon will be directing a new music video for "And I am Telling You." Here's an excerpt from the article:

    “Dreamgirls” director Bill Condon is getting ready to shoot a new video of Jennifer Hudson singing “And I Am Telling You …” Condon told me last night at the New York Film Critics’ awards ceremony that the video will be completely unlike “Dreamgirls” but made to attract even more of an audience for the hit film musical."

    Why is Jennifer Hudson being robbed of Best Actress? Is it because she has less experience? I thought it was based on great performance & not a popularity contest!!! Beyonce was good as well but SHE shoud only get Best Supporting Actress!!!

    somewhere I read that the difference between BA and BSA is merely minutes on film. jhud may have had less screentime, but her presence is undeniable. imo, she has a MUCH better chance to winning BSA than Beyonce does for BA.

    Jennifer Hudson is OUTSTANDING in Dreamgirls. She should be consider for Best Actress. Everyone at the theatre was talking about Jennifer. The media played up Beyonce's part in the movie. They were wrong. JH is the shining star in this movie.

    The movie is AMAZING...saw it Friday evening (Columbia, SC-we were late in getting it!)...while Beyonce does an amazing job, Jennifer Hudson is OUTSTANDING. We cheered during And I am Telling....It would be mad if she did not take GG and the Oscars.

    Dreamgirls was not that great.The original was the best.Jennifer Hudson could not hold Jennifer Hollidays shoes.She did not have the acting or voice Jennifer Holliday put out there.Jennifer Holliday stole the original show so of course they would say that about this character as well.I am sorry but this dreamgirls should of never been done because the first was great this was just O.K.

    Jennifer Hudson is not that great she did win a golden globe thats only because Idol has a inside run at these awards Kelly Klarkson stinks but after 5 years she won a grammy for best proformer.Proformer? she has the personality of a broken kite it just don't fly.I feel Dreamgirls was a dissapointment.The actors beside Eddie Murphy were just average.I do not give into media hype.Rent the original Dreamgirls.

    I do not know what you people went to see but for me it was just a cable movie.I went to see Dreamgirls when it was on Broadway.The show blow me away this just made me yawn.Jennifer Hudson was o.k, but next to Jennifer Holliday she is a understudy.Jennifer Holliday stole the show her character was suppose to steal the show the songs where made for her.No one can sing I,m telling you like Jennifer Holliday.Nice try Hudson , but your voted off a second time.

    I am not a hater I just know good and Jennifer Hudson is not talent she is flash in the pan like all the other idols. They may fool people like yourself, but a person who knows acting and singing and a person who has been in broadway shows and commericals for 15 years I can tell you Jennifer Holliday blows Jennifer Hudson off the stage.You have not seen Jennifer Holliday she was the real thing Jennifer Hudson is a wannabee like all the American Idols.Hey do you want to hear something bad listen to Jennifer Hudson sing the National Antem at the world series Great last note(bad ..bad..bad) I am not a hater just aperson who can notice the fakes from the real.she tore it up for cable tv not the big picture, or stage.SORRY!

    I also went to the broadway production.Anonymous is right Jennifer Holliday was the star if she was out or on a vacation the show was not so great people came from miles around to see her in that role .She made the role and had to do it live every night.Jennifer hudson did it in a studio with take after take until she could do some justice to the role.I think the movie was o.k,but it is a popularity contest for Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson.

    Jennifer Holliday is at legendary status but she is the epitome of Broadway Theatrics. Everyone's seen the YouTube clips by now and it's apparent that vocally she wows, but her acting is just WAY TOO MUCH. Hudson brings nuance, subtlety and vulnerability to Effie. Give credit where it's due, JHolliday was amazing on stage, and JHudson is amazing on film. They are both extremely talented and blessed.

    I am sorry to say you must be a Jennifer Hudson Fan because I see a attempt at a copycat proformance just to try to hold her own with a cast of stars.The clip you see on youtube was the Tony awards for Ms Holliday so it was over the top the stage production on broadway was Great. They had Jennifer Hudson put on weight and try her best copy Jennifer Holliday, but it came up short.If you compare Jennifer Hudson to Jennifer Holliday you do not know theatre .Jennifer Hudson has a long way to go in acting and anything else, her voice is O.K, but not anything like Jennifer Holliday.
    Please I do not hate Ms Hudson but she is talent free.Just another Idol reject who use the show to get a foot in the door.we do not need to find talent it is out there.

    I agree with some that is said , but I do feel Dreamgirls as a whole reached out to new crowd that did not see the broadway production.Jennifer Hudson is no way better then Jennifer holliday.Jennifer holliday won a grammy for her version of I,m telling you.She has won many awards and had a great run in music and stage.I think Jennifer Hudson appeals to a new crowd because of her Idol conflicts and her (You will see me in hollywood to Simone) after she was let go on the show.I thought she should of won Idol, but I also feel Idol is a cheap way to get to fame.People are saying Jennifer Hudson stole the show in the movie this is because her character is suppose to.Jennifer Holliday stole the show which was live everynight.Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce sang in a studio with take after take until it sounded great.I am mixed about saying Dreamgirls should of not been done because once you have the best (the original show) why repeat something that is not better then the first.We are showing we have no originality doing the same shows,movies and music because we can not come up anyhting new.The movie to all who did see the original was just O.K.If I did not see the broadway production I would of thought the movie was great.Jennifer Holliday is the best Effie ever because if she was not in the production there would of never been a movie done about it now.

    I hate when people post anonymously but I know who's posting what by the ip address so it's all good.Anyway, you people need to make up names for yourselves.

    I agree with the poster who posted second to last. I always thought that while Holliday tore the shit up vocally her acting was not on par with her voice. I have the bootleg of the stage show and after you get past her voice and focus in on her acting I notice that she wasn't that good. She seemed distracted and just delivered her lines. She shined most when the spotlight was on her and when she opened her mouth to sing. Whereas with Hudson's Effie she shines regardless of if she's singing or not. For example, the scene where they are at the jazz club and she asks Curtis if he likes skinny women like Deena or a real woman like her. I thought she delivered her lines beautifully in that scene and she was even sexy while she did it. I don't think Holliday could do the same thing. At least in my opinion.

    However, Holliday will always be the original butHudson gets props for bringing Effie to a new generation and for that she owns Effie on screen and Holliday owns Effie on stage.

    P.S. to the poster who suggested that people should "rent" the original Dreamgirls, I just want you to know that you can't rent the original Dreamgirls. No official copy of the 1981 OBC exists except for bootlegs and whatever Geffen has hidden away. You can rent the 2001 concert but it's not the same as the OBC, your best bet is to try and get your hands on a bootleg like I did.

    I have seen the original stage version. They are both equally good but different. You can't possibly expect it to be the exact same thing from 25 years ago. As someone stated before. Jennifer Holliday was exceptional to bring this character (Effie) to life. Jennifer Hudson dusted it off the shelf and gave it a new life. The show, the song are slightly different interpretations. Enjoy both, it's not an all or nothing, do or die.

    Wow! Hateration is in the air!!! Why can't you people just give them their credit. I have seen the Broadway musical and the movie. Both were outstanding! Just leave it at that! And for one of the comments, it is PERFORMANCE not proformance!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love JHol and I love JHud. You can't expect JHud to sing like JHol, they are two different individuals. For Heaven's sake, JHud was born when the original came to Broadway. Please stop Hating! Both Jen's, I love you both and both are very talented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kudos to the whole cast on Broadway and on film. Great Job and God Bless! I hope it is nominated for an Oscar!!!!

    I heard the rummor Jennifer Hudson is secretly dating GW Williams, the world class rock guitar player.
    I have no idea if it is true. All I can say is I am 17 years old and I want a shot at GW Williams myself, so step back Jennifer, he's mine.

    GW Williams is so HOT and adorable, I think Jennifer is all wrong for him.
