Ooh, baby love: It's 'DREAMGIRLS'
A production of DREAMGIRLS is getting started in Covington, Kentucky. Here's the info for those that are in the area. You still have a couple months to catch a production before the movie is released. The October 13th show at The Carnegie is already sold out so get your tickets cause they are going fast. When: 8 p.m. today and Oct. 14, 3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Oct. 15, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11-12. post a commentIt was alright. I imagined something better and I wasn't really impressed. There were some very amazing parts and there were some very mediocre parts. It's a community theater, so what can you say? I don't think it was really worth $20. The Effie didn't do the "And I Am Telling You" very well, but she was amazing in "I Am Changing." The second act overall was much better thanthe first act. The Deena and Lorrell was really good. This has nothig to do with the show, but I think Lorrell was the pretiest. It was still worth it to me because I've never seen Dreamgirls on stage, but I've heard every line from the concert CD (a plethera of times). But if you don't care that much to see this particular show or you've already seen it, don't waste your money. It was like a mediocre high school performance.
