Comments on "Dreamgirls Promo"
I don't believe that is an official picture, i'm going to tell you why!
Simply because on the picture we can see Deena, Lorrell & Michelle and not Effie, and when Michelle arrives in the group is renamed Deena Jones & the Dreams and not simply The Dreams!!!
But it looks great I really enjoy!
Your site is fabulous better than the official... Tkx
The only thing who is strange is that the pictures of the girls are from the movie!!!!!
sumthin' strange: in the LP of the Supremes there is a song titled "It's Hard For Me To Say GoodBy"
Was the autor of Dreamgirls inspired by this song???
C.C. I am not sure if that is where they got the inspiration from but I would not be surprised if they did.
I am a huge Supremes fan. Not sure if that's where they got the inspiration from or not (It's Hard For Me To Say Goodbye). The Supremes' "Touch" LP was released in 1971, a year after Diana Ross had already left the group and was replaced by "Jean Terrell". But I find that it's very interesting how they've made this upcoming movie much more parallel to the story of the Supremes, even more so than the original Broadway play. As in the movie, they are even using versions and designs of the Supremes' album covers (like the pic where Deena, Effie and Lorrell are presented with gold records) and how they changed the hometown of the girls from Chicago (which is what it was in the original play) to Detroit (in the movie version, which is where it all started for The Supremes). Pretty cool! Looking forward to seeing it!
Oh! I never realized in the movie that there is a song It's Hard For Me To Say Goodbye! My bad!
it's official, it was given out at LA Pride on T-shirts two weekends ago...
